My journey to working at Flexner Houser Injury Law has been a unique one. I graduated from UNCW with a B.A. in Communication, though I had originally entered college as a special education major with hopes to be a teacher. During my studies, I was honored to receive the SOAR Scholarship in recognition of my academic achievement and commitment to community service.

Over the years I have worked in several fields, from professional nannying to creating branding for a nonprofit organization. No matter the role, my goal has remained the same: to work in a field where I can serve others.

I have always been interested in how the law can be used as a tool to advocate for others, and personal injury law is no exception. My favorite part of my job is getting to know our clients and hearing their stories. Being injured in a car accident or at work, and then having to navigate the next steps, can be a frustrating process. My role is to ensure our clients feel heard and valued while keeping communication open, clear, and streamlined.

In addition to my work at Flexner Houser Injury Law, I proudly serve on the board of KeyStep, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth aging out of foster care as they transition into adulthood. We provide access to essential resources such as food, hygiene items, and home goods, along with mentorship and financial assistance when needed. We also support our youth as they graduate high school or earn their GEDs and help them secure employment as they begin building independent lives. I led the development of KeyStep’s branding, including designing the logo, selecting brand colors, helping craft our mission statement, and creating presentations and other materials that communicate who we are and what we do.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy artistic hobbies such as crocheting and singing. When I’m out and about, you’ll find me singing karaoke or browsing the aisles of a craft store.
